About

A full house and a semi-sorted life

Full-time worker. Wife. Mum of four. Still figuring most of it out as I go.

Warm, candid portrait of Mel
(natural light, at home, not posed)

I'm Mel. I work full time, I'm married, and I have four kids. Our home is loud, busy and wonderfully neurodivergent, and most days it looks nothing like the tidy corners of the internet.

For years I chased a version of "sorted" that wasn't built for a life like mine, home, health, relationships, all of it. It made me feel like I was always behind. So I stopped chasing perfect and started building rhythms that actually survive real life: sick days, meltdowns, sport runs, study deadlines, the lot.

That's what I share here. Not a perfectly styled life. A realistically run one, across Home, Heart, Body and Soul.

What I believe

Progress should reduce shame, not add to it

Rhythm over motivation

A rhythm you'll actually keep beats a perfect system you'll abandon by Wednesday.

Progress over perfection

Small, repeatable habits build more change than one heroic weekend ever will.

Just one thing

Overwhelmed people don't need a ten-step plan. They need one doable next step.

Behind the scenes

The realistic bit

  • I work full time in a demanding, people-facing job, so everything I share has to fit around real capacity, not endless time.
  • I'm married, and we split the load, imperfectly, like most households.
  • I have four kids, and our household is wonderfully neurodivergent.
  • I'm studying towards a new qualification and volunteering where I can, because growth doesn't stop at midlife.
  • I believe progress should reduce shame, not add to it.
